Admission Application

After visiting about 10 care sites, I came to ILA. What I found truly amazed me:

1. All staff are ACTUAL TEACHERS! Not daycare workers, did you know that the State of Oregon only requires 15 hours of training in order to be licensed?

2. The Executive Directors, Massene, and Patricia have a deep commitment and are open to the needs of the parents and the students; which is seen in the development of an actual curriculum even for 6-24-month age group and teacher/student evaluations provided.

3. ILA helps establish a routine and teach good habits: hand washing, snacks, naps, and STE(A)M learning.

4. All teachers are native speakers and we have a diverse population with teachers from Africa, France, and multiple other French-speaking countries.

5. Data from the Standardized Test has shown, year after year, our students score better than those in LO public schools and are above excellent in every category!

ILA is truly a special place.  You feel the warmth, love for the children and passion for teaching as you enter the doors.  Our daughter Nora was one of the first children enrolled into the ILA crèche toddler program and we couldn’t be happier.  We came to ILA on the recommendation of friends who couldn’t say enough positive things about the school, and found that their glowing report was well-deserved.  The educators are nurturing, patient and loving.  Nora’s teachers also engaged her curiosity and embraced her energy.

Since beginning the toddler program, Nora’s skills have excelled.  Her fine motor skills (drawing) have improved, her vocabulary has significantly expanded and the socialization has been very positive.  Nora particularly loves all the art projects that they do and was most proud of her piece which she called “le poisson.”  We too cannot say enough positive things about ILA!

It is with great pleasure that we are writing a review of the International Leadership Academy. As working parents, one of our great concerns is not being able to spend the days with our children, especially when they are young.  We worry about their learning, their happiness, and even about smaller things like their diet.  Once we discovered ILA, our concerns disappeared.  The great difficulty is now that our boys don’t want to come home!  The boys have blossomed in so many wonderful ways. Mathis teaches us how to say leopard in French and takes pride in helping the teacher.  Sebastien sings French nursery rhymes to himself and is so much more confident in making new friends.  And, of course, they are always so happy about the famous “lunch program.”  Who gets to eat salmon at school!  But, their favorites are definitely the Friday morning croissants and pain au chocolat.

The teachers and leadership at ILA have created a wonderful environment for our boys to be safe, happy, and engaged. I can not possibly recommend this school enough, it has truly been a bright light in our busy lives!
